A community-based program to prepare children to enroll in formal schools while working with parents to understand the importance of education.
Once the children have completed the program, the Community instructors and N&TU staff bring them to the local primary schools where they are enrolled. Community instructors follow up to make sure the children are succeeding.
Community and parental involvement are critical to the success of keeping the children in school. N&TU organizes workshops for parents and adolescent girls, they discuss topics such as sanitation and hygiene, benefits of education, communition, challenges faced by parents while parenting and many others.
To ensure school retention, enrolled learners are regularly followed up through school and home visits. Also, best academic performing are rewarded with scholastic materials and some are considered for scholarship..
